Youth Shotgun Camp

Hosted by the Fort Hood Skeet and Trap Club.
The camp is for young people ages 13 to 18, and is conducted under the strict supervision and direction of skeet and firearms instructors at all times. (Ages 13 to 15 must have a parent present when they are shooting)
Attendees can expect to shoot five boxes of shells each day. They will learn fundamentals that will last their entire lifetime.
Subjects include:
Safety, etiquette, stance, gun mount, hold points, eye focal point (a lot of concentration on vision and how to use it), the theory of leads, follow-through, mental management, and shot plan.
The Team
The camp director is Ralph Aaron who is the chief instructor for the National Skeet Shooting Association. He is a retired army officer, JROTC instructor, and a master level instructor who has taught more than 20 youth camps and countless adult level classes. All the instructors assisting with the camp are NSSA certified. Other clubs members will be on hand to assist.
Don't forget
- Any form of glasses/sunglasses are required.
- If shooting personal shotgun please declare at registration if it is a 20 or 12 guage.
- Bring a fun, safe and coachable attitude
Cost
$150 each and Open to Military Families and Civilians
Includes:
15 boxes of shells, 15 rounds of clay targets, lunch each day, a camp T-shirt, and a shooting pouch.
A $50 nonrefundable deposit is required. Check is payable to Elm Creek Gun Club.
Registration Information
Participants may use their own shotgun or borrow one from the camp. All firearms must be registered at the Marvin Leath Visitors Center at main gate.
All visitors without a valid DoD ID must obtain a pass at the visitors center.
