Can you beat the Garrison CSM?

Join the Garrison CSM and our community in an exciting fitness adventure that brings a dynamic challenge every month! Each month we introduce a new contest designed for all fitness levels that promote a healthy lifestyle, foster community spirit, and encourage everyone to push their limits! Embrace the spirit of friendly competition and personal growth as we unite to conquer the “Great Fitness Challenge”!

Official Documentation and Scoring

  • Competition is open to all DOD cardholders- Soldiers, dependents, civilians, etc. in good health.
  • All participants must sign in on official challenge documentation, acknowledge “hold harmless” with signature and confirm information in RecTrac
  • Participants must log numerical data with MWR gym staff on official competition documentation for each month’s challenge
  • Each challenge will be “scored” with domains such as time, number of meters, repetitions, etc.
  • Participant must provide evidence of “score” (numerical data) via APP, photo or in person to MWR employee overseeing sign in

    • Row 1000m

    • 25 Tire Flip 220/132 lbs.

    • 200m Run

    • 25 Pull Ups

    • 200m Run

    • 100m Tank Push *@ highest setting with 5x 45lbs

    • 200m Run

    • 25 Wall Balls 20/14 lbs.

    • 200m Run

CASH OUT:

  • 50 Box Jumps 24”/20”

Saturday, October 25 at Applied Functional Fitness Facility
0800-0900 and 1000-1200: Great Fitness Challenge “OPEN” Judged Competition

0900-1000: Great Fitness Challenge: “The Final REP” hosted as the WOD for Applied Functional Fitness class.  No pre-registration necessary!

  • If Athlete chooses “RX” version, they must adhere to prescribed weights, movements (Pull Ups), movement order and REPs for the ENTIRE WOD.
  • Anything other than completion in “RX”, is considered “SCALED” and should be recorded as “SCALED”.
  • “BUY IN” must be completed before moving on to Tire Flip and “CASH OUT” can only be completed AFTER the last 200m Run.
  • A Dog sled of equal weight/force can be used for RX
  • Treadmill, Air Runner, Track, etc. can be used for running portion of WOD

Scaled Options

  • BUY IN:
    • Row 1000m (Row less meters)
    • 25 Tire Flip 220/132 lbs. (Flip a lower weight or substitute with thrusters or air squats)
    • 200m Run (walk, jog, etc.)
    • 25 Pull Ups (Banded pull ups, jumping pull ups)
    • 200m Run
    • 100m Tank Push *At highest setting with 5x 45lbs (Push a lower setting, less weight, jump box with weights)
    • 200m Run
    • 25 Wall Balls 20/14 lbs. (Use a lighter Wall Ball, Wall Ball Thrusters)
    • 200m Run
  • CASH OUT:
    • ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​50 Box Jumps 24”/20” (Lower Box height, step ups)

Questions and Troubleshooting

  • Participants can use equipment or “compete” at a MWR facility or elsewhere- including a home gym, outside, etc. IF the participant has competed in an alternate location, they MUST provide proof via APP or photo of their score.
  • Participants CAN compete more than once to obtain a better score
  • Score sheets will be collected at the end of each month and kept for record
