The challenge blends creative design, basic engineering, and waterproofing skills, as teams attempt to construct boats that can actually float and traverse to the other side of the pool. The event is a hilarious spectacle, featuring a team introduction “Parade of Boats” with elaborate themes before the race begins.
Family will race against other families and units will race against other units. While a few boats race for the fastest time, the greatest crowd excitement is reserved for the inevitable, spectacular sinkers.
Ultimately, it's a celebration of community, teamwork, and good-humored failure, proving that anything can float—at least for a little while.
Teams will bring their own flat boxes and duct tape.
