How should I dress my child for the day?

Children should be dressed appropriately for the weather and active learning, exploration, and play, which can be messy at times.

For their safety, children who are able to walk, even those that are able to pull up or stand, must wear sturdy, closed toe shoes with a full back and slip-resistant soles.

One extra change of complete clothing, to include socks and underwear, is required for the occasional accidents that do happen.

Children attending hourly care in an infant or toddler classroom are not to be brought to child care with beads in their hair due to the potential for choking. Parents are asked to refrain from sending their children to care with jewelry (necklaces, bracelets, anklets, rings). Children with pierced ears should have a stud type earring with a secured, twist-on safety back.
